another week

Right now i am waiting on my pictures that i sent as of yesterday to persnickety prints and i only used them instead of creative memories is due to i wanted to receive it all in one package... at the same time... Creative Memories always takes longer for me to receive... they come from MN and PP comes from UT so that is one difference the other is that usually PP takes about 24-48 hours to have printed they send me a confirmation email that it is going out... Creative memories takes a bit longer and then it is coming from further away...
anyways i will take more photos of my version of project life as soon as i get my photos and pages in... just wanted to give an update... Pin It

Project Life

Here are some photos of my project life book so far… I still have a long way to go… a lot of holes to fill up… For extra photos I am using the 8x8 for our scouts (I do digi scrapbooking for them so they have a souvenir of their year) and then the 8.5X11 for our extra fun stuff as a family… so I hope you have enjoyed this so far… for one of our meetings for scouts I didn’t take a photo so instead I made a 4x6 scouting photo myself… I had fun with that I also did that for MLK day since that was a day I had off and I was at home the whole day and didn’t take any photos… I know boo shame on me… I am a bit upset at myself for not remembering that CM cuts off some of the photos and I need to remember to place my words a little bit more in on the photo… the only stinker is since I have bought 4x6 for 90$ through CM photo center I use them but it takes forever to get  my prints… so I try to put as big an order as I can together… for my pages I use Persnickety prints they are awesome and in UT which is closer than MN… and so they are fast and a great quality with a lower price… I did order my MLK and Scouting 4x6 through them and they charged 29 cents for each print where I can get them through CM for like 12 cents so I don’t know… Trade offs I guess… There is a bunch I am in the process of doing… I still need to do the booth sale page for our troop from last night…I really love how my Project life is coming together I mean I am using product that I bought over 5 years ago and incorporating it into my album.. see the paper on the sides of this layout on the journal cards… that is from a Michaels stack from either late 2004 or early 2005 so maybe 6-7 years old… my mom was working on her cards and needed some paper so I pulled this stuff from my stash… well we had some scratch paper and I put it by my supplies and thought hey this is a way to spice up my journal cards and make them beautiful…

I have added things from events like my husband participated in his company's annual Bowling tourney and so I cut up the sign with the name of the team or department that was bowling and added it to the layout… I love this about scrapbooking, it allows you to be a packrat and still throw things away with out the guilt… I used what I needed from the sign and threw the rest away… an organized packrat or a scrap booker whatever you want to call me is fine by me… As you can see I am still liking the hands on and creating of my own stuff for my book… Where as Becky Higgins has everything ready for you… which depending on how much hands on or time you have you will find the right fix for you… I love Becky Higgins idea of making it simple and easy and taking a photo a day and journal everyday… It is a journal that I am trying to keep up with… I am using up my embellishments that I have had forever(ok maybe not that long) it has been awhile… I have been taking my camera out early in the morning on my way into work when I see a beautiful sunrise… this Project is forcing me to not only smell the roses but to enjoy them as well… So lets see how March treats us… see it’s a bit empty… I bought some Girl scout Embellishments from K&Company about 2 years ago and since we are doing booth sales this is helping out to spice up my journaling cards… Oh and to help keep me organized I have 4x6 index cards with each weeks layout design on them so that way I can keep track of which way I need to take the photos and what goes where… a little organized I am… lol

POTD-Becky Higgins Project life…

Here are some of my photos from the last few weeks

As you can tell these are not in any particular order… I Love the Flame broiler and that is my treat to myself on Tuesdays when DH is bowling…

And then I took a picture while in the Canyon on my way home…

Then on Friday we played (well mostly DH) Epic Mickey on the WII… he spent a good hour or so…

The Saturday before super bowl the sunset was so eerie I had to take a photo of it… 

Yes I will admit I don’t like the cold that much and we live in socal yes that reads 39 degrees..WTH?I heart our Dog Norton he is such a Drama Queen…

I made a new mac n cheese by kraft that the DH wanted to try… It was ok

I got many packages these last few weeks… I found the amazon app for the iphone… Yeah not good for me… so I got some of my orders in

Superbowl… I know we are one of the rare few families that could care less about the superbowl let alone football in general… (I was hoping that Greenbay won… I have family in Wisconsin)

Then DH got a package in the mail as well… a new Tom Tom… this one actually speaks the street names… our other one only says turn in 100 yards… etc…

I have been going from Saturday to Friday on my Pages… Only because the new year started on a Saturday… I am ordering this photos today… Once I get them and inserted into my album I will take a photo and show you all…

Project life

I am so excited... I got my Persnikety prints order today... which means that i got my 8x8 layout, my 8.5x11inch layouts... yes and my 8x8 page protectors in the mail today... now i am just waiting on the 8.5x11 inch page protectors... I know that my project life isnt going to be as uniformed as if i had bought the kit... but it will have my personality written all over it...
I used a lot of stuff that i had and bought some new stuff... mainly page protectors bought... but i cut down a lot of my own cardstock down to 4x6 and 4x3... So it will definitely be colorful... it has been fun so far... Once i get a chance i will post some more photos... of the album... Would love to see anyone elses project life and thier progress... Project Life

ok so in a few days i will have an update on my project life and show you all what i am doing to "MAKE IT MY OWN"... i will show you inside my book and pages... i will show you what and how i am doing this... Am i sad that i am not using the Becky Higgins stuff... Yes i am wouldve loved the tourqouise edition with the bells and whistles... I have bought some of the sheet protectors and then some of the 4x3 journaling cards...

Becky Higgins Project life

Well, after much thinking and some advice from the hubby... I have decided not to purchase the project life by Becky Higgins... I am going to try to make it on my own... as my DH says " what does an experienced scrapbooker like yourself need with a kit? I mean you own thousands in scrapbooking supplies, you should be ashamed of yourself for wanting to purchase such a kit...the Kit is for those that are starting out in the scrapbooking" yeah i think he couldnt get over the 52.99 price tag... well lets see if i can make it cheaper? now  I know someone who contributes to this site that bought one... Would love to see her's compared to mine... the actual Becky Higgins Project Life compared to my measly one... My husband gave me a challange and i am going to run with it... will post when i can... I know i havent posted as much as i like... New years resolution for me is to blog more...
I really wanted to get one... Its just not happening without the blessing of the DH... I love Becky Higgins and all her beautiful craftiness...
if you get one are you getting Turqouise or Amber? or are you going digital? which she hasnt released yet...
