another week

Right now i am waiting on my pictures that i sent as of yesterday to persnickety prints and i only used them instead of creative memories is due to i wanted to receive it all in one package... at the same time... Creative Memories always takes longer for me to receive... they come from MN and PP comes from UT so that is one difference the other is that usually PP takes about 24-48 hours to have printed they send me a confirmation email that it is going out... Creative memories takes a bit longer and then it is coming from further away...
anyways i will take more photos of my version of project life as soon as i get my photos and pages in... just wanted to give an update... Pin It

Project Life

Here are some photos of my project life book so far… I still have a long way to go… a lot of holes to fill up… For extra photos I am using the 8x8 for our scouts (I do digi scrapbooking for them so they have a souvenir of their year) and then the 8.5X11 for our extra fun stuff as a family… so I hope you have enjoyed this so far… for one of our meetings for scouts I didn’t take a photo so instead I made a 4x6 scouting photo myself… I had fun with that I also did that for MLK day since that was a day I had off and I was at home the whole day and didn’t take any photos… I know boo shame on me… I am a bit upset at myself for not remembering that CM cuts off some of the photos and I need to remember to place my words a little bit more in on the photo… the only stinker is since I have bought 4x6 for 90$ through CM photo center I use them but it takes forever to get  my prints… so I try to put as big an order as I can together… for my pages I use Persnickety prints they are awesome and in UT which is closer than MN… and so they are fast and a great quality with a lower price… I did order my MLK and Scouting 4x6 through them and they charged 29 cents for each print where I can get them through CM for like 12 cents so I don’t know… Trade offs I guess… There is a bunch I am in the process of doing… I still need to do the booth sale page for our troop from last night…I really love how my Project life is coming together I mean I am using product that I bought over 5 years ago and incorporating it into my album.. see the paper on the sides of this layout on the journal cards… that is from a Michaels stack from either late 2004 or early 2005 so maybe 6-7 years old… my mom was working on her cards and needed some paper so I pulled this stuff from my stash… well we had some scratch paper and I put it by my supplies and thought hey this is a way to spice up my journal cards and make them beautiful…

I have added things from events like my husband participated in his company's annual Bowling tourney and so I cut up the sign with the name of the team or department that was bowling and added it to the layout… I love this about scrapbooking, it allows you to be a packrat and still throw things away with out the guilt… I used what I needed from the sign and threw the rest away… an organized packrat or a scrap booker whatever you want to call me is fine by me… As you can see I am still liking the hands on and creating of my own stuff for my book… Where as Becky Higgins has everything ready for you… which depending on how much hands on or time you have you will find the right fix for you… I love Becky Higgins idea of making it simple and easy and taking a photo a day and journal everyday… It is a journal that I am trying to keep up with… I am using up my embellishments that I have had forever(ok maybe not that long) it has been awhile… I have been taking my camera out early in the morning on my way into work when I see a beautiful sunrise… this Project is forcing me to not only smell the roses but to enjoy them as well… So lets see how March treats us… see it’s a bit empty… I bought some Girl scout Embellishments from K&Company about 2 years ago and since we are doing booth sales this is helping out to spice up my journaling cards… Oh and to help keep me organized I have 4x6 index cards with each weeks layout design on them so that way I can keep track of which way I need to take the photos and what goes where… a little organized I am… lol

Not going to lie I did by a package of Becky Higgins lined 4x3 cards and her page protectors A&B…

As you all know I have been trying to get my scrapping up to date and the best way I know how is to cheat a little with the digi… Which helps me a lot when I am feeling a bit overwhelmed… and certainly there are things that I can do digi that I would have a harder time doing as traditional… The first two layouts are everything from Creative memories… except the pictures of course…                                                                                              The one at the bottom Oktoberfest I got the digi stuff From Ryn Creations So much cute stuff… since I really only had 2 pictures I just decided to do a somewhat plain layout…

Creative Memories Freebies

I got asked this in re to the digital freebies from CM and how to download them and use so I decided not only would i Reply back to my new friend, but i would also share with all of you!!!! Just in case you had any questions or problems with figuring it out...
Check out the CM DIGITAL FREEBIES here

Left Click on the image you want
it will pop it in its own window
then right click
pick SAVE AS
it will then pop up your My documents /My computer from your computer
Click the folder or spot where you save/have all your digital scrapbooking stuff
(mine is under Creative Memories)
then hit save...

now if you have storybook creator plus software on your computer and you want to bring it up into your creative media to use... then follow these directions after you have already done the first part...

Open SBC+
Click on MY STUFF
ADD COLLECTION (if you dont already have one for CM FREEBIES)
Then hit CONTENT
if is Paper then choose Paper if it is an Embelishment then choos Embellishment
It will then pop open your My documents/Computer
Click the folder or spot where you saved it to
find and click on your download freebie
highlight then hit get selected embellishments...
hit close then you are done

Another Digital page...

Instead of printing out pictures for doing this layout i decided to do this one digitally... I mean i only needed enough for a 1 page layout... A lot easier... if you ask me... the background paper is from the 2 peas free kit for February all you need is... everything else is Creative memories... The type is from Accidental Kiss from Kevin and Amanda free fonts... the link is listed under digital freebies... I thought this page turned out great...

CM 8x8 and 12x12 prints....

I just got my prints the other day ... I had ordered the 12x12 of the Boogie nights pages that i had done... and then I had another 12x12 from the Chino Christmas parade for my co leader and i did 8x8 for the girls...  the 8x8 pages are 3.99$ for (1-9) and the get cheaper the more you order... the 12x12 was 6.99$ (1-9) and again the more you order the cheaper they become... I love the quality of the paper used... the Matte finish gives it just the right touch for me. Glossy is a bit to bold for me and you can see the fingerprints much more easily...
CM Photocenter Feel free to check it out...
I love that you can buy 750 4x6 prints for 90$ which is a 37% savings on the photos... making them .12 cents a piece... the only downfall is having to wait for the photos while they are mailed out to you...
Uploading them to the CM Photocenter site is quite easy and they will let you share them with your friends as well...
Thier Story books are awesome... you can either use the free software and use the presedigned pages or you can use the software creator plus and upload your own designs... the books range in price depending what size you choose...

Just a small vent...

Another update.... After i sent an email to technical support there was a new upate (which i kept clicking on and it kept popping back stating that i was most up to date) so i am persistant.... CM link to the update so if any of you are having the same issue i was having with CM storybook plus please either click on the link above or go to your updates... Remember to hit run and then you should be good to go...

Update... While I now have where i can print local and my Desktop wallpapers i no longer have it where i can send for printing through CM and which I got my Prints yesterday and will tell you they are awesome... I couldnt believe it... but that is another post... I really like to print through CM they have quality and everything turns out awesome... it is giving me a new error a technical error and a void... so I dont know what is going on... 99% of the time my software works like a charm and I would totally recommend everyone at least trying it for themselves to see if they like it or not... If i give it a few more days i hope it will straighten itself out... My Software is from when this product first came out in 2007 while it is not incrediably old and i have hit for the updates and kept it fairly up to date... I dont know what the heck my softwares problem is... Yesterday was a really bad day and i think I really took it out on this small problem with the Software... thanks for listening to my vent....

Well i really enjoyed the Creative Memories storybook creator plus until tonight when i went to start it up and it wont let me load it... it only will load as the free version... Error states that my activation code was last registered 19.4 days ago... What The Heck... Not happy... I paid for this program and now its not working... Funny it was registered on my computer, not someone elses... I dont know what the heck is going on, but i wouldnt recommend this program until all the kinks are figured out... I love it... WHEN IT WORKS!!!! right now it is a piece of crap... I dont know what is going on over at CM but they need to get it together... Please for the sanity of those that like to scrapbook and such... I am so not happy with this product...

I am so done with this... all i wanted to do was make a header for my family blog and now my program doesnt want to work... WHY??? I have already had a horrible day at work now the rest of my world wants to come crashing down... I am ready for a mental breakdown... One more thing to go wrong and i swear i dont know what i will do... Pin It
